CGCSo is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional individuals to join our Legal Team in the following positions:
- Legal Assistant
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the provision of corporate secretarial, compliance, regulatory, and client service functions while ensuring the efficient management of client instructions and statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with matters relating to company incorporations, corporate governance, statutory compliance, immigration permits, tax registrations, and business licensing.
- Attend to and manage client instructions in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend to filings, lodgements, registrations at Companies Registry, Zambia Revenue Authority, Immigration Department and other government agencies pursuant to delegated work.
- Prepare fee quotations and facilitate client onboarding processes, including KYC requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation and execution of Letters of Engagement and related documentation.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates on assigned matters.
- Draft, review, and process legal and corporate documentation.
- Maintain and update company registers and statutory records.
- Prepare and submit annual returns, annual accounts, and other compliance filings.
- Remind clients of annual compliance obligations and ensure timely fulfilment of statutory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in company secretarial services
- Sound knowledge of company law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience dealing with regulatory authorities such as PACRA, ZRA, Immigration etc.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong drafting and document review skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism, integrity, and client-service orientation.
