CGCSo is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional individuals to join our Legal Team in the following positions:

  1. Legal Assistant

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the provision of corporate secretarial, compliance, regulatory, and client service functions while ensuring the efficient management of client instructions and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with matters relating to company incorporations, corporate governance, statutory compliance, immigration permits, tax registrations, and business licensing.
  • Attend to and manage client instructions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Attend to filings, lodgements, registrations at Companies Registry, Zambia Revenue Authority, Immigration Department and other government agencies pursuant to delegated work.
  • Prepare fee quotations and facilitate client onboarding processes, including KYC requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation and execution of Letters of Engagement and related documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates on assigned matters.
  • Draft, review, and process legal and corporate documentation.
  • Maintain and update company registers and statutory records.
  • Prepare and submit annual returns, annual accounts, and other compliance filings.
  • Remind clients of annual compliance obligations and ensure timely fulfilment of statutory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in company secretarial services
  • Sound knowledge of company law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities such as PACRA, ZRA, Immigration etc.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong drafting and document review skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and client-service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
